However, if it's true that there is a real (but tiny) increased chance of cancer via acrylamide, then perhaps it is reasonable for retailers to have a modest, small-print warning, but allowed to use the words "tiny increased risk" as part of it. Then the letter of the law would be satisfied, people can ignore it as usual and keep drinking coffee... :coffee:

Not weasels, but Civets in Asia. After they are extracted from the dung, the beans are still roasted (a good thing, when one thinks about it...)

I'm starting to look favorably on that 8 year old jar of Folgers Instant in the back of the cupboard now.

Only in California. It's the only state in the union that Floridians can laugh at.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Are they also going to mention drinking coffee also appears to reduce your risk of developing colon cancer? Personally, I think that popping a health warning on something when there's been no human trials (only results for rodents so far) is a bit premature. I'd prefer a more explicitly evidenced-based approach to public health matters like this, rather than all this rumour and sigh.

Swings and roundabouts. Coffee keeps you alert and awake. Might be a extra couple of years of conscious life over a lifetime. Then the cancer takes it away. The large print giveth and the small print taketh away. So drink it for the taste not effect.

This is about the only sensible thing you've said for the last two years or so.

Money has been paid out because coffee causes cancer It also might provide health benefits
Will the coffee companies get a refund ?
I'd rather see a state ban coffee products that aren't ethically and environmentally sound than see a state
profit from some hysterical cancer warning.
