As I said, it would be immediately known if it was on when claimed to be off. Security and privacy breaches are investigated daily by hundreds and thousands of individual geeks, and thousands of IT security companies. If I had the will power I could literally find out for myself tomorrow. It would be that easy.

I think you've seen too many Hollywood spy movies.

Yes, take the battery and sim card out. Swallow the sim card just to be safe. I've seen them show up at crime scenes in TV shows.

Last year Google admitted to being able to track users even when location was off. But it's not necessary to focus on that issue alone. Like I said before it only takes one leak anywhere to make it happen. In my opinion most of the leaks will just be user carelessness. We just aren't that careful, why should we be --jesus!

a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

Unless you live in a shithole of course. The US is crazy, but you don't need to tunnel through any government firewall yet...

Or maybe it's already there and we just don't know it! :hairfire:

Feck, famously in days of yore never allowed a photo of himself to be taken.

All you have to do is go to Aberdeen and look for a skinny dog running around on the beach and a guy with a long bear! Don't need no gubmint!

Feck told us about one of his fingers missing its tip. He even posted a photo of it. It had a small tattoo on it. A smiley, I think. This can be used to ensure we have not found some other bloke letting a skinny dog run around on a beach near Aberdeen.

I found this supposedly taken from google's privacy policy:
"When you use Google services, we may collect and process information about your actual location. We use various technologies to determine location, including IP address, GPS, and other sensors that may, for example, provide Google with information on nearby devices, Wi-Fi access points, and cell towers," the policy reads.
There are just so many points where our attempts at privacy can fail. It's just unreasonable in my opinion to expect that level of privacy. I usually just set the bar high enough elsewhere to keep this guy:

from showing up at my house. But if he's a member here then I guess I'm screwed!

Ok. But that's a good example of the process I talked about. Someone identified it, and then google stopped doing it.

But I will say: FUCK YOU, GOOGLE!! :lay:
