Sure, but you made the claim that the universes are of no importance. You need to present evidence that there are multiple universes, and prove your claim that they are of no importance.

That they are of no importance is the null hypothesis. It's up to others to prove that it is of importance. I.e. it's up to theists to prove that God exists, not atheists to prove that God doesn't exist.

Importance and the existence of gods are not the same issues. However, if someone affirmatively claims that the universe has zero importance, then that's a claim. It's not a given.

Now, I think the universe is quite important. My proof is that from my perspective, I cannot exist without a universe to exist in. So, it's vital, as vital as the air I breathe to me, since the air is part of the universe.

But you made a claim, too. Yes, he makes a claim that there is a god or deity. But you made the claim that the universe has no importance, or that the universes (assuming there are others) are of no importance. That's your claim. You make claims and have to produce evidence.

Saying "you can't prove a negative" is pseudologic. A proof of impossibility or an evidence of absence argument are typical methods to fulfill the burden of proof for a negative claim.
