That should get him in. Finally. As president.

How the hell did this happen?

'Grand jury indicts 13 Russian nationals over 2016 election interference'
A federal grand jury has indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian entities for allegedly meddling in the 2016 presidential election, charging them with conspiracy to defraud the United States, the Department of Justice announced Friday.

In addition, three defendants were charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and bank fraud, and five defendants with aggravated identity theft.

"The defendants allegedly conducted what they called information warfare against the United States, with the stated goal of spreading distrust towards the candidates and the political system in general," Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said.

The grand jury had been empaneled by special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election as well as any possible connections between Russia and Trump campaign associates.

FBI Director Chris Wray and Rosenstein briefed President Donald Trump on the indictments at the White House on Friday morning, a White House official said.

Beginning as early as 2014, the Russian organization Internet Research Agency began operations to interfere with the US political system, including the 2016 elections, according to the indictment.

"The defendants allegedly conducted what they called information warfare against the United States, with the stated goal of spreading distrust towards the candidates and the political system in general," Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said.
No fucking way, man. They are engaged in "information warfare?" They said things to try to make people distrust candidates, and the political system in general? Lock 'em up! If someone spreads information for the purpose of trying to convince people not to trust candidates, or the political system, they're committing "fraud against the United States!"

The article says "Beginning as early as 2014, the Russian organization Internet Research Agency began operations to interfere with the US political system, including the 2016 elections, according to the indictment." So, a year before Trump even announced his candidacy, and 2 years before anyone gave him a snowball's chance in hell of even getting the Republican nomination (remember, his candidacy was a joke with no chance to win up until about March, 2016).

So what does any of this say about Trump? No allegation that any American had anything to do with it, and no allegation that it effected the outcome of the election at all.

Now, listen to this: "The defendants allegedly posed as US persons, created false US personas and operated social media pages and groups designed to attract US audiences, the indictment reads. The Internet Research Agency had a "strategic goal to sow discord in the US political system" including the election, according to the indictment." Based on CNN's reporting, that's not a crime. I hope they left out the juicy parts of the indictment, like the idiots their reporters are. Because foreign persons creating fake personas on social media to attract US audiences to "sow discord in the US political system" is not a crime.

And you gotta love CNN - they report that "The President remains unconvinced that Russia meddled in the election!" Well, since nobody has yet produced evidence that they did, I guess that wouldn't be an unfair thing to be -- "not convinced." That being said, look at the source they cited for the President's alleged current skepticism: "three sources familiar with the President's thinking say he remains unconvinced that Russia interfered in the presidential election."

Yes, you read that right - CNN is citing three anonymous sources that say they are "familiar with the President's thinking." Are they fucking insane? What kind of reporting is that? Did the sources hear the president say it? Did the sources read something? Are they just familiar with the President's thinking in general, or is it on THIS PARTICULAR POINT? We don't know. The dopey reporter doesn't say.

Now, note too, that the CNN article you cited L'Emmerdeur does not say they meddled (a) with Trump's knowledge or assistance or collusion, or (b) that it was just Trump they were looking to help or hurt. According to CNN's shoddy-ass reporting, they were engaged in an information campaign to spread distrust of "candidates" plural and "the political system." Uhhhhh.... o.k....

The White House put out a statement that points to the allegation that the activities of the Russians aimed at interfering in the US presidential election began 'in 2014 before the President declared his candidacy,' according to the indictment. As previously noted, it appears that at least some in Russia (possibly including Putin) were aware of Trump's serious presidential ambitions as early as January, 2014.

I've criticized his language, his tweeting, and I've described him as someone I would personally dislike if I knew him (I believe), and I have described him as lacking decorum and class. I have criticized his speeches, among other things.
As a self-described social liberal you are remarkably quiet about more substantial issues regarding Trump's illiberal policies. His stance on the abortion issue, for instance. I cannot recall a single comment from you about that. Your mildly critical remarks on matters of style are massively overshadowed by your defence of, or total silence about the crap regarding more substantial issues he comes up with. You are a died-in-the-wool Trump sycophant.

Having googled those quotes I was not surprised that the search engine pops up 239 results for "carter "I think the media have been harder on Trump than any other president certainly that I've known about. I think they feel free to claim that Trump is mentally deranged and everything else without hesitation."" but only eight for "carter "no politician in history" has been treated "worse of more unfairly"". One of those eight, the Washington Examiner cites an article that appeared in the Oct. 21, 2017 edition of the New York Times as the source of the former, but none whatsoever for the latter, which was made in May. Try as I might, I could not find it either. Then I realised the second quote was not uttered by Jimmy Carter at all. It came out of the mouth of Donald Trump.
