Found any planes for the tub yet? It seams a bit pointless an aircraft carrier without aircraft.
Holland would just be Germany's patio now if it wasn't for Blighty.

I'll not even comment on the "no planes" sneer as it betrays an ignorance of naval matters it would be indelicate to draw attention to.
Yes thanks to Yanks, Soviets, Aussies, Kiwi's and Canadians we were saved. The country itself was liberated by the Canadians.

An ignorance of assuming an aircraft carrier would be carrying aircraft. Oh it has another purpose please tell? :FIO:
Canadians and Kiwis are the far flung seed of mighty Britannia's loins. Bit rude to dismiss the sacrifice of the thousands of Brits who died fighting the Nazis because lazier nations couldn't be arsed.

And the aircraft carrier is not due to declare initial operating capacity until 2020. It's on target.

Foreigners, just a bunch of damned ingrates and rogues. I wouldn't give you tuppence for 'em. The Interminably Roasted Beef of Olde England forever, etc etc.

The Brits may have sacrificed but that is about all they did. The soviets sacrificed much more. Australia and NZ are not just populated by Brits in fact they are probably a minority. A major part of the prison population was Irish.
Do you build an aircraft carrier for how much? When you dont need it and have to wait two years for its planes. Pure madness but that is the UK of today. Once you have left the EU the better for all of us. The UK can stay in the 19th century while the rest of us move on. I would not give tuppence (old money) for the UK after Brexit. Anyway in five years you will begging to get back in but you wont be able to as you will be unable to meet the financial criteria. That IS the pure madness of Brexit.

I concede that the Dutch aircraft carrier is far superior...

Remind me how long Holland lasted in WWII.......you can quote the figure in hours if that's easier....

You won't win you know. The treacherously lapsed Scotsman has an auto-default setting - Brit = crappest thing in the world, Dutch - do it better than anyone.

There's no arguing with the poor fellow. All sense of proportion and reason gone. Must be all the dope smoke floating around Amsterdam.

Heh, heh. I'm well aware that SDs anti-everything-British state of mind is pathological....

Of course you wont win because there is no competition. That is an Anglo-Saxon concept: Adversarial. Your lives are governed by it. In school, the workplace, the courts, on the roads and in parliament. You only see black and white. From May's WAR cabinet to the ENEMIES of Brexit you just cant think any other way.
I can always remember having colleagues over from our branches in the UK. I worked in a consultant engineering company. They could not believe the superior working conditions we had. Also working times. Plenty of us worked 32 hours a week and started and left when we wanted to. This was all due to the Dutch labour laws. We dont have strong unions because there is no need as we have works councils. A concept they could not get their heads around. We did have a lot of meetings. Discussion and compromise was a main tool in the office.

Well compared to the UK and many countries we do things better but of course a Brit would never concede to anything. The arrogance of the Brits is well known which is why Brexit is in a shit state and going on about oversized tugs which were built for no other reason than to give work and wave flags is just a complete loss of reason. You refuse to learn anything from other countries. You have massive problems but yet you have to invent the wheel again. Just look to see how others have solved the problem, we do. When are you lot going to do anything about your flooding problems? Season is almost on us again.

There is not much dope smoke these days and only in the tourist areas because it is not "cool" to smoke the stuff which was of course the plan.
