Just discovered this lot. Lovely stuff. The tiny bit of harmony at 1.26 on this track ...

The latest fad is a poverty social. Every woman must wear calico,
and every man his old clothes. In addition each is fined 25 cents if
he or she does not have a patch on his or her clothing. If these
parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

Rationalia relies on voluntary donations. There is no obligation of course, but if you value this place and want to see it continue please consider making a small donation towards the forum's running costs.
Details on how to do that can be found here.

I do not know why she was going to dance
To Saint John, to musettes
But when this guy took a kiss
She shuddered, was chipped
How not to lose your head
Tightened by daring arms?
For we always believe in the sweet words of love
When they are said with the eyes
She who loved him so much
She thought him the most beautiful of Saint Jean
She remained grayed
Without will under his kisses
No more thinking, she gave him
The best of her being
Beautiful speaker every time he lied
She knew, but she loved him
How not to lose your head
Tightened by daring arms?
For we always believe in the sweet words of love
When they are said with the eyes
She loved him so much
She thought him the most beautiful of Saint Jean
She remained ...
