A few years after the war, but my father in law's parents kept plenty of rabbits. One of them was designated as his pet and that one got extra feeding and attention from the young boy.

Of course, the odd thing was that every few months, his pet rabbit would shrink dramatically in size.

My father also kept rabbits. At Easter and Christmas, they would be sold to neighbors for preparing lunch.

(Edit: In response to Tyrannical)

They were unlucky. Norway used their oil and gas to build up a fund of over a trillion dollars. Venezuela had their eye on the same deal but market economics got them in the end. That plus, in all likelihood, the CIA.

I mean their timing and planning was better and they were able to take advantage of high oil prices. I believe their trillion is invested in all sorts of places - including UK government bonds.

..all of which in Crumpleland is about to fall into the deep dark place where resides your heart. :hehe:

They got lucky (at least for now). Investment is gambling. Twice so when it's high finance. You took acid one time too many and need to instil order on things but really there is no order. :tea:

I think you and I subscribe to vaguely the same school of giggerish Jim. Crumple has his own alarming universe at his disposal.

Norway also only has 5 million people........ But it does show that even with huge amounts of natural resources, an incompetent government can still ruin it all.

Even before the oil price crash, Venezuela had been skimping on infrastructure and maintenance of it's oil industry for years. Largest proven oil reserves in the world, has to import gasoline from the US. They also import a lot of light US crude, because Venezuelan refineries have to blend US light oil with the very thick Venezuelan oil.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.
