No, since the introduction of the civil partnerships in 2001, they have step by step become nearly identical to marriages. Divorcing a civil partnership is as complicated as divorcing a marriage. So far, there were only three differences left between marriages and civil partnerships:
1. The Name
2. Constitutional protection
3. Adoption and Artificial Reproduction rights.
Civil partnerships cannot be compared to the French PACS. They were also never available to straight couples. And they are now not available any longer since gay marriage is legal.
