Also, "right wing" nuttery tends to be disavowed by the vast majority of those who call themselves conservative or moderately right. The nuttery coming out of the left tends to be embraced and defended by the left. That's why idiocy like "female" crossing signals can get passed in an australian state government. It's not really considered an extreme view.

When someone on the right, though, says something racist, for example, the person will usually lose their job and is immediately condemned. Hardly anyone takes such nuttery seriously and certainly hardly anyone defends it.

It's one of the myriad examples of the pervasive leftist thought involving cultural appropriation and other bollocks. These events are so common -- like when white people are harassed for wearing dreadlocks, and yoga is deemed "culturally oppressive."
