One point of view is that this was caused by "inflammatory rhetoric" because someone was saying that "your community is the worst of the worst" -- this did not just come out of thin air... http://dailycaller.com/2017/01/05/crazy ... ime-video/ So, what they need is help, in addition to "some consequences."

This is one of my objections to hate crime legislation. It's just a distraction. Is it, or is it not a "hate crime?" Isn't it bad enough they appear to be guilty of kidnapping, assault, battery, torture, reckless endangerment, harassment, and threats, and probably conspiracy to commit all said offenses? Absent new facts, I would think these blokes would be facing 20 years in prison. Why is it worse if they hate white people?

That's another problem with hate crime laws. They aren't evenhandedly applied to afford each individual equal protection of the law.

Those creeps deserve to be prosecuted. That said, I don't recall Forty Two starting a thread about the documented increase in racially motivated crime and intimidation by Trump supporters in the aftermath of the election. I guess that would have been taking his faux PC persona a step too far.

But the reality is, L'thingo, that it's teh whites that are being persecuted these days. Minorities have got it easy now. In fact it's easier being a female transgender muslim socialist in America these days than it is being a straight middle aged white guy.

One justification for treating hate crimes more severely is that the morons who do it are often attempting to JUSTIFY what they do, in some way.

So blacks who beat up a disabled white guy are trying to say that they or "their communtiy" are wronged in some way, and therefore have some sort of RIGHT to take action.

I think it's a good idea to hit them harder in these circumstances. People need to know that those kind of excuses will make it worse for them in court, and they will spend even longer in prison when they get caught.

Pretty much everyone justifies in some way or another every action they take. Unless they go the "I was drunk" defense. In fact, the people who scare me the most are the ones who commit crimes without any justification at all. I.e. psychopaths.

And what do you mean by 'white boys' and why should people have to be trained not to kidnap, bind, and gag them? Are 'white boys' natural victims, or just the natural prey of 'black boys' who haven't been appropriately trained? Can you give us an example of an appropriate black boys' training program?
