As I already said: I expect the guy didn't expect to survive the attack. It was a suicide mission. There were also reports he changed clothes before the attack. Why shouldn't be just place his stuff he would not need anymore anywhere in the cabin, for example on a back seat, where it would then fall to the ground when the truck hit one of the huts.

The ID was found early on Tuesday, so within a few hours after the truck had been transported from the crime scene to a police compound where it was then examined. Police didn't announce the find until Tuesday evening for strategic reasons.

Why wouldn't you find it? I mean wtf exactly makes that the least bit interesting? He wasn't stealing, he wasn't out to kill and get away with it, both of which BTW have resulted in ids left behind.

It is now reported that the truck had a safety system which let it brake automatically and block the motor within a few seconds of the attack. This prevented further deaths and it also explains why the attacker was surprised and stopped the attack so suddenly.
