..and by that you mean anyone could expose the electorate to the awful, awful, truth about a candidate.
You need to disabuse yourself of this ridiculous notion that Russia was acting altruistic. Oh right, their goal was to further American democracy...

Indeed, he does need to disabuse himself of any notion he has that Russia acts altruistically. However, in the context of "hacking" the election, everyone needs to disabuse themselves of the ridiculous notion that someone has provided a scintilla of evidence that Russia did something (and specifically what that something was). Unnamed sources saying that "intelligence agencies" think the methods look like Russia is, quite simply, bullshit. I wouldn't expect anyone to believe that shit coming out of a Republican administration, so why in the world would anyone buy it now?
If they had hard evidence, what is the hold-up? Disclose it. Show us how you know. Show us what you know. It just doesn't cut it to say "we're your intelligence services, trust us." That's what they said in 2003, when they looked us all in the face and showed overhead views of "chemical and biological weapons" factories in Iraq. Trust us - the WMD are there -- near Baghdad or to the North, South, East or West of there.....
The allegation is too big. Too important. It's an extraordinary claim that Russia hacked our election and influenced the outcome for the purpose of electing Donald Trump over Hilary Clinton, and that, as some say, Donald Trump's campaign was in direct cahoots with Putin. Thems some serious words - -treason comes to mind, if it's true.
Now, everyone hates Trump. The entire GOP field hated Trump during the primaries, with Republicans agonizing over whether they could support him. He won despite the Republican party, not with its help. And, Hillary's camp and all the Democrats loathe Trump. So, nobody in the government, majority or minority, wanted to help Trump. So, why did the information not get released, if the proof exists? What possible reason could the Obama Administration's NSA or CIA have to withold that information, which could have sunk Trump's campaign in mid-stream and shown him to be a traitor. What? They secretly wanted Hillary to lose?
I don't trust people who say "unnamed sources" have reported that it's the Russians. Bull-fucking-shit.

The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar
