Commissioned by Greenpeace "to call attention to the issue of global warming and its impact on glaciers", this picture was conceived and taken by Spencer Tunick on a glacier in Switzerland in August 2007.
In this work, the artist metaphorically compares the fragility of human life without protection from clothing to that of the earth without glaciers. The artist states:

“I want my images to go more than skin-deep. I want the viewers to feel the vulnerability of their existence and how it relates closely to the sensitivity of the world’s glaciers.”

My two cents' worth: It is all of the above, though as a political statement I can think of more effective ways of making one. Whatever - I quite like Tunick's "installations".

parties become a regular thing, says an exchange, won't there be
a good chance for newspaper men to shine?

One reason I like Tunick's installations is that they get so many people in a high dudgeon. Most criticisms they make are quite justified, but I can think of more worthy subjects to bust a vein about. What gives me the greatest satisfaction is the number of puritanical, self-appointed morality police showing off their self-righteousness with ostentatious verbal and sometimes visual displays of distaste. Listening to them and observing their facial, or should I say farcial, expressions turns out to be more entertaining at times than Tunick's creations themselves.

Yeah, I've got a bit of that in me too.

I'd have thought this picture would get you off all by itself for exactly the same reason. I imagine people standing naked in front of statements like, "I'M MAD".

I like it, lots of metaphors in one pic, if you want to break a frame, this is the right approach.
