Obamacare ain't capitalism, which is why I went to great pains to explain the difference. I said that "insurance" can work in a free-market economy where the insurer is free to control costs by denying coverage and the end user is free to pressure the insurer to cover care by threatening to take their business elsewhere to someone who will.

Obamacare however MANDATES that insurers cover expensive care regardless of cost, for everyone, regardless of pre-existing conditions, which makes it a non-free-market situation, which is why it's failing.

Wrong. The bigger the pool of patients the more likely it becomes that it will include very, very sick people who will consume the lion's share of the available care (as determined by the costs and insurer profitability)

Insurance companies of any kind stay in business by LIMITING RISK and they do so by limiting members of the pool to those with lower risks of making claims. Obamacare turns that paradigm on its head by mandating that insurers accept all comers, regardless of how sick they are.
