So, the GOP now has the Presidency, Senate, House, majority of governorships, and a very large majority of state legislatures. They, well, they RUN this place, top to bottom. Democrats are, at this point, footnotes in the GOP Manifesto.

Here I thought the GOP was on the way out? Weren't they supposed to sink into obscurity and irrelevance as the Brave New Social Democratic Youth took over and ousted all the old, crusty, rednecks? Weren't the Social Justice Warriors and Gender Beserkers going to throw out that musty old Constitution and replace it with the full lyrics of Kumbaya? Fuck, man, we're more Republican than we were under Reagan. This is the most Republican country I've ever lived in, and I've been around a fair few years. I remember Ike, FFS.

Someone has blundered.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Yes well the Trump phenomenon let angry white men have one final SHOUT to remind us they are there. The GOP will never have a two term president from now on.

Republicans will run all the more rural states forever. Liberal populated states will be all Democratic with state sized Obamacares. They will also isolate themselves from red neck states.

It's hard to know exactly what trump will end up doing, but I'm sure there's going to be some serious recriminations in the GOP just for the fact that he dissed the establishment so much. I still reckon they'll either assassinate or impeachment him.

Well he has already started back-peddling:
Donald Trump appears to soften stance on range of pledges
In first interview since winning US election, Trump says he may not repeal Obamacare and admits prosecution of Hillary Clinton is not a priority

Donald Trump has appeared to soften his stance on a range of sweeping campaign pledges, saying in his first interview since being elected US president that he might not repeal Obamacare and admitting the prosecution of Hillary Clinton over confidential emails is not a priority.

The Republican, who said he would “immediately repeal and replace” Obamacare after taking office, told the Wall Street Journal he might instead seek to reform the policy, keeping the ban on insurers denying coverage for pre-existing conditions.

He said he would also look to retain the provision that allowed young adults to be insured on their parents’ policies, adding that he had been convinced of the virtues of the two points in his meeting with outgoing president, Barack Obama, on Thursday.

Huff post
Hillary Clinton not only won the popular vote in Tuesday’s election. It is now clear that she won it by a margin larger than two candidates who went on to win the presidency.

David Leonhardt, a columnist for The New York Times, noted on Friday that with a 1.7-percentage-point popular vote lead over Donald Trump,Clinton will have a larger margin of victory than Richard Nixon had over Hubert Humphrey in 1968 or John F. Kennedy had over Nixon in 1960. (Her edge is also larger than Al Gore’s popular vote victory over George W. Bush in 2000, though he too was stymied by an electoral college loss.)

In raw numbers, that amounts to an edge of roughly 1.8 million votes as of Saturday.

HuffPo iss beside the point as usual... the indirect election system is at fault (and I suspect massive gerrymandering to be involved too)...

Nice place to visit. Canada. We drove the Transcanada in bits, Newfoundland to Alberta, then bits of BC. The prairie made me sleepy at the wheel.

Myself I only knew Quebec and Nova Scotia: though since I also visited bits of Alberta and Ontario, my family preferred to go Ssouth and visit the US with my aunts who were dwelling there.

Your picture didn't include the rust belt I see. You know the people who voted for Obama and were sold out by Obama and the globalist establishment which let them down.
