Women work 39 days a year more than men, report says

Women work on average 39 more days a year than men according to the World Economic Forum.

Women work on average 50 minutes more a day than men, data from the WEF's Global Gender Gap report suggests.
The report says the prevalence of unpaid work burdens women and estimates that economic inequalities between the sexes could take 170 years to close.
The gap in economic opportunity, the WEF says, is now larger than at any point since 2008.

Nearly a quarter of a billion women have entered the global workforce over the past decade, the report says.
Although men do 34% more paid work than women, women still spend more of their time on unpaid work such as housework, childcare and care for older people.
When this is factored in, the WEF calculates women work more than a month more than men per year.

(continued, wife busying in the background with bins and stuff around the house - got no chill-out mode.) :read:

That's only because World of Warcraft and Counter-Strike aren't counted as work.

The 50 minutes per year is an average worldwide, which is heavily weighted by countries like India and Portugal (where women report working more than 100 minutes per day more than men). Countries like Germany, Australia, UK, Spain and the US are down around 5 to 15 minutes difference. And a few countries like the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Denmark and Japan have men reporting more of the "work" time than women.

Also, what we're talking about is offsetting employment work with personal chores. So, you're going to get, as part of the data, a comparison between single men and single women reporting their "work" around the house/apartment and taking care of personal chores. So, if single guys live like a bachelor and chooses not to clean the house as often as single women, then they'll report far fewer hours spent in that activity than women.

You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

But, but being a slob is a male courtship tactic going back to the stone age where rocks and rock chippings were left all over the cave floor giving the female something to tidy up, and a reason to be around.

Women have to be workaholics, because of how much more put-upon by life they are than men. http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/21/politics/ ... index.html

Mothers with small children can't be home with them at the same time as they are out working on the campaign trail. This distinguishes them from fathers, who definitely get to stay home with the kids while being out on the campaign trail.
