It's been a mess so far. Elizabeth Warren got a good amount of boos and chants of "We trusted you! We trusted you!" The Bernie contingent is pissed off and the DNC is taking away signs to limit their exposure.

The GOP got lambasted for booing when Cruz said to "vote your conscience." A speaker at the DNC convention called Bernie supporters "ridiculous" for pursuing their consciences.

The Clinton News Network and PMSNBC are scrambling to see who can gush more at the Democrats, and who can ignore the issues surrounding Clinton more. Now they're trying to sell a narrative that the DNC email hacks are linked to Trump because Russia is so scared of Clinton that they are doing whatever they can to interfere with the election and see that Trump is elected. LOL.

It's a three ring circus.

Apparently not, since Trump surged into the lead in major polling, including fivethirtyeight.com.

Also, this is just the first day of the Convention, as you pointed out. It's still going on. There is plenty of bullshit being shoveled.

That being said, on the first day of the convention, it was discovered that the National Chairperson of the Democratic Party was in cohoots with one of the candidates to shift the nomination in her direction, all the while lying to everyone's faces by declaring their neutrality. Add to that that they planned to dog-whistle bernie sanders as either "a Jew" or an atheist, because the peeps will see that as making a difference. Add to that that the DNC national Chairperson who resigned in disgrace after the incriminating email leak was HIRED SAME DAY by the Clinton camp, and then speakers at the Convention told the Bernie supporters how ridiculous they were for following their preferred candidate.

Oh, and we're being treated to another DNC/Clinton "narrative" that it's all the Russians' doing, because Putin wants to deal with Trump more than the "tough, rough" Hillary Clinton..... lol

The whole house of cards is being exposed for the sham it is. The media's continued gushing over the Democrats is falling apart. They've been shown to get their talking points from the DNC and the Clinton camp. They are lying pieces of shit, bought and paid for by special interests and corporate interests, and Hillary is the steamiest pile of them all. There isn't a thing she says that can be trusted at face value.
