The extremeness of the thing feels quite surreal, but it's hardly surprising in a way - Farage and his chums have been doing the 'rivers of blood' thing for months now, I think he even talked about 'violence in the streets' if immigration isn't stopped. The Leave campaign have been whipping the terminally gullible into a froth over immigration, and now they're all wringing their hands in public over this (while probably rubbing them in glee in private). Makes me want to puke. The trouble with people like Farage is that they will do anything it takes to make the world outside their heads the same as the world inside.

Apparently it was a dodgy Muslim who said he shouted 'Britain first' and no one else heard it....so maybe that aspect was a bit of deliberate, on the spot, misdirection? Could be simply a nut with a gun and no rational motive....still a bad lot Britain first though. Probably in Wales seeking out their spiritual leader Nick Griffin?

I saw a witness on the tele saying he heard it. Didn't look like a Muzzy.

The man suspected of killing Labour MP Jo Cox confessed to feeling ‘socially isolated and disconnected from society’ as a result of long-term mental illness, it emerged last night.
Friends said Mair had never shown any interest in politics or the EU referendum.
Duane St Louis, age 41, the suspect’s half-brother, said Mair had 'never expressed any views about Britain, or politics or racist tendencies'.
He said: 'I’m mixed race and I’m his half-brother, we got on well.

Sounds like he was just crazy and not politically motivated.

Possibly meds if they've been changed recently. Some anti-depressants have been linked with gun related incidents in the US. The community level monitoring and care system has been decimated in the health cuts. So any deterioration can easily be overlooked.
