They work for themselves and help manage the money of others who have "worked" for themselves, nothing against Calvinist work ethics there... after all, ethics and money are mostly a matter of hypocrisy, as we have known for 2000 years.

How can so many of you support the libertarian notion of a minimum basic income for all. After all Friedrich Hayek advocated it in the Road to Serfdom, and it originated, basically, with Milton Friedman and the evil Chicago School of Economics. This kind of classical liberal economic theory was proven wrong a long time ago by the Keynesians, wasn't it?

I agree. Just the fact it is being talked about is truly amazing. The town of Utrecht (we dont have any real cities here) is going to run trials with a basic income instead of benefits to see what effect it will have.
