What do the Mercans here think will be the immediate outcome of a Trump presidency? Do you think he will start doing radical crazy shit pretty much straight away, and/or will anti-Trump folks go postal and start smashing shit up and taking pot shots at him? Or the highly unlikely outsome - not much different from normal... ?

He hasn't suggested that he wants to do anything "radical" or "crazy" really.

The big objection is the wall, which is half built already, and border walls are common in the first world. It's really on the US that gets criticized for suggesting it should try to keep people from illegally walking into the country. So, he might build the wall, and then there will be pretty much a long fence keeping most people out, except if they do what every other civilized country does and apply for lawful entry and come in through the front door.

Another object are his trade deals, suggesting he may enact some added tariffs if countries like China and Mexico don't agree to readjust trade terms on various deals. That's been suggested by many people for a long time. The ones objecting to that are the free-trade neocons. They want to be allowed to set up shop over in China and sell back dirt cheap products to the US as US factories close because they can't compete with the near slave wages. Trump says that we shouldn't have John Deere tractors and Carrier air conditioners going overseas for cheap labor. So, he'll tax the products coming back in to make it less attractive for companies to outsource products. He's just saying he is going to do what people have been bitching about for the last 10 years -- American companies closing and going over to China, Korea, etc., and undercutting American wages with cheap products.

What else is he saying he's going to do that's so radical and crazy shit? Ban Muslim immigration for a while? First, he already walked that back. The point is that he is going to try to work something out with Congress to get a handle on the incoming flood of immigration from Muslim countries where there is radicalization. Given what's happening in Germany and elsewhere, that's not really "radical" at all.

My guess is that Trump will either be one of our greatest Presidents, or he will be our worst. There is little in between. He is either (a) both right and capable of getting his ideas through, or (b) way off base and/or incapable of getting anything done. We have maybe a 10% chance of (a), and about a 90% chance of (b) in my estimation. But, that's still better than with Hillary, who is probably 98% (b).

As usual Trumpkins can't see past the nose on the end of their dull faces: The time is coming very soon when even Chinese labor can't compete against The Machine. That's what we need to be talking about.

Automated road trains, self serve McDonald's, drone pizza delivery...in the medium term, new jobs will involve designing, building, maintaining said tech, but in the long term, 80-90% of us will be working in the service industries as easily-replaceable cogs, or just not working at all.
When the supply of machine labor approaches infinity, or at least outstrips demand by enough, at minimum we're going to have to come up with new theories of money, or suffer the consequences.

More than twenty thousand people have committed to protest Hillary Clinton’s likely nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia — and that number is quickly growing.

The protesters are united in their support for Bernie Sanders, as well as their opposition to “a fraudulent Hillary nomination,” according to the group’s website.

Protesters are encouraged to read documents shared within the group. One document is titled “Civil Disobedience Training.” Another is titled “Health and Safety at Militant Actions” and includes tips on first-aid and withstanding teargas.

The deadly shooting spree began when Garza walked up to 56-year-old Eugene Lipscomb, who was sitting in his vehicle at a Houston car wash, and called him “the devil” before fatally shooting him in the head with a pistol.

Garza then told the owners of the car wash: “Y’all calm down. I’m not going to kill y’all, y’all are Christians.”

As he retreated before returning with an AR-15 assault rifle, Garza was screaming about Jews and homosexuals, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Police say Garza fired 212 rounds, shooting indiscriminately for nearly an hour, injuring two law enforcement officers and setting a gas station on fire, before being killed by a SWAT team member.

Back in February, Garza tweeted to Trump, “I’ve told everyone since August u will be President of this great nation. On the eve of your first votes I thank you. -vet.”

Garza also went after London's newly-elected Muslim mayor after he criticized Trump saying, "shut up bitch... we are too smart for your shit.. USA baby ... sorry Europe."
