In the Leftist Progressive milieu, guilt is collective. Don't you understand Progressivism? They work only in collectives. That's what it means when they say "racism or sexism is privilege plus power." Only "white people" can be racist, because COLLECTIVELY they have systemic power. White people are racist even without knowing it, because we have that systemic privilege. That's what the modern thought from the Progressive Left is these days.

The Progressive Stack -- it's order of racial and sex/orientation/gender privilege -- a homeless white guy is privileged. A rich black guy is oppressed. They really think that.

None of that really has anything to do with the terms "white guilt" or "self loathing". There's seems to be very little behind the terms. They really just don't make sense to me. How does a colour feel guilt? A person of any colour may feel empathy towards the situation of others of any colour. It's not surprising that more white people feel empathy for black people in our western societies than the other way around, given black people have been more oppressed than white people historically. That's just a fact of reality. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with "guilt" to me.

And "self loathing" seems even more empty. I doubt there's very many people at all who loath themselves. And those that do probably have pathological conditions.

the colonial age of the late XVIII, XIX° and early XX°centuries happened AFTER the heyday of slavery, and we did not practice genocide, even if local resistances often put us at war.

because what we generally understand by colonisation, is when we went to Asia (India etc) and Africa and took control of the local populations, as opposed to when we populated the Americas by simply getting rid of te locals and imported Africans for the workforce.
