Goodnight, Donald...
Too early to predict Clinton beating Trump. She should do it, but Trump's support has been continually growing.
The advantages Trump has is that he is driving people to the polls in record numbers -- like never seen before numbers -- and Clinton's followers are the opposite of that -- unmotivated, not showing up to the polls, etc. The Democrat primary turnout has been way down, and the GOP turnout has been way up.

Trump has the capacity to win in places like Massachusetts and other northeastern states, which have not been seriously contested by Republicans in more than a generation. Similarly, places like Michigan with its blue collar base is very much within Trump's reach. He is very popular, also, in Florida -- a crucial state.

He also has started to take the position that Hillary is part of the problem. She is the establishment. She is Goldman Sachs. She talks about "making america whole again," and Trump points out that Hillary is a career politician that, if she hasn't helped fix it by now, should not be considered someone who has the answers. If she had the answer, why hasn't she presented them before?

Now, I think Clinton would beat Trump, but it's not the cakewalk some might think. Many people think that the Sanders supporters will definitely vote for Clinton if she wins. Don't bet on it. They are quite possibly going to stay home.

Trump has to face, however, a third party candidate possibility. The GOP establishment is apoplectic. He's not under their control, so they are going to whatever they can to beat him or bring him to heel.

Haley Barbour talked about a convention fight for the nomination, if Trump doesn't get enough delegates to win automatically on the first ballot, the GOP will pull the nomination from him with a brokered convention. The basic gist is that even though Trump is "winning" he is only winning in the 30% range -- so 60%+ of GOP voters are voting "not Trump." So, in that situation, Trump can win almost all the States, but get clobbered when Rubio and Cruz drop out and the party drafts Romney to come in.

The GOP establishment would rather lose to Hillary than have a Trump President. Trump threatens the cozy deals, the lobbying class and the consultant class in Washington, and the GOP guys like Ryan and such would be on shaky ground if Trump becomes President. If Hillary wins, though, the policy positions are not much different than a Romney Presidency, and guys like Paul Ryan actually increase in power as leaders of the GOP opposition....

Not a conspiracy theory. Reality of the sausage making process.

Wow.
What's "wow" is that you've TOTALLY missed the point of why he raised that point. :fp:
I don't think I did, but if you care to set forth the point that you believe I TOTALLY missed, I might wind up agreeing with you.
I did in my post above the one you quoted. :bored:

Heh! I knew you'd, predictably, be butt-hurt over this.
Not butt-hurt. I love Donald Trump jokes, and I don't support the guy. I just wish it was Jon Steward doing the skewering, since he would actually be able to present effective satire.
Ahh, I'm getting it now. It's because it was an unwashed furriner attacking Merka. You really don't like it when outsiders criticise the home of freedum!

Of course!

This is the beauty of Trump, whether one agrees with him or not. The establishment hates him. That's why you get guys from the GOP now saying that their "conscience" won't let them vote for Trump. LOL. Riiiiiighht! They expect us to believe that it's not because he threatens the consultant and lobbying class, and that he is a threat to all the established politician's money and current positions. It's their "conscience" - lol.

I don't like Donald Trump, tbh. I don't want to vote for him. But, if it were between him and Cruz or Rubio, or Clinton. I'll take a shot at Trump. At least he isn't in the pocket of Wall Street, Koch, Soros, or the Christian Right.

LOL - I did not "TOTALLY miss" the "point" that Jon Stewart, himself, changed his own, current, name, which is somewhat different than a person using their own name, the one they were born with, but whose grandfather originally had a different name a century ago. It is just a very weak slam on Donald Trump. "Oh, you joked about Stewart changing his name from Leibowitz to Stewart! Ha! Your grandfather was "Drumpf!" in 1899!!! Hahahahahaha!!!!"

Member Of Trump's Campaign Arrested For Role In Cliven Bundy Standoff
Federal authorities on Thursday arrested a New Hampshire man for his role in a standoff by Nevada ranchers opposed to federal control of public lands.

Gerald DeLemus, of Rochester, was named in an indictment in Nevada as a “mid-level leader” and organizer of a conspiracy to recruit, organize, train and provide support to armed men and other followers of rancher Cliven Bundy.

DeLemus, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and tea party activist, last year signed on as a member of presidential candidate Donald Trump's New Hampshire veterans coalition. A July news release posted on Trump’s website listed DeLemus as a co-chair.

...

At the time of his arrest, DeLemus was running for Strafford County sheriff.

You really seem to operate by a different system of logic, sometimes. The clear point is that making fun of Jon Stewart for changing his name is dumb given his (Trump's) own ancestor changed his name (as did literally millions of other people).

As i said, you're just butthurt because a foreigner is daring to critique a Merkan.
