Do you think they realize that outside their hermetically sealed little femisphere they're jokes? That's if people are aware of them at all. Once you get out of your sophomore year you have better things to do. This is my take on it and pretty much everything else:
Rev? Are you in agreement -- the folks on FTB and at the various skeptic groups bitching about Dawkins on this issue are jokes? Are they relevant to real feminism or are these folks outlying extremists who ought not be mentioned when discussing feminism?
What's the point? All of us here think FTB are a joke. And you know my views on what regular feminism is.
The point is to ask if you thought the folks in question -- like Novella's group NECCS or whatever its initials are -- are outlying, radical groups that aren't espousing real feminism. Lindy West and Zoe Quinn took him to task - are they not real feminists? They are espousing a wacky extreme view?

Your views on what regular feminism is is a different question.

I'd go by the simple definition the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities

the question still remains, is Steve Novella and the NECSS which "no platformed" Dawkins, and folks like Lindy West and Zoe Quinn - these are extremists? Or are they regular feminists?

Extremists who think they are the only true face of feminism. Criticise them, but don't assume they are truly representative.

Nobody has assumed anything of the kind.

Notice, you don't see this kind of defensiveness when folks criticize other groups -- MRA's -- gun owners - Christians. You never see folks filling up threads with post after posts about "that's not the real MRA - -the real MRA is just after equality too..." and you never see generalizations or criticisms of gun owners being met with post after post about how you can lump them all into one boat and you can'd generalize them as truly representative.

You get this kind of "rush to defense" in relation to certain groups only - two major ones are Muslims and Feminists. Any kind of parody or satire of these groups is invariably subject to a rush of white knights riding in to the rescue to make sure that everybody repeats the mantra "not all - can't generalize."

Someone should send this to Dawkins and ask him to retweet it.

Well you mention Islam 1.7 billion people.... that is AFAIK a generalization but I actually disagree with Islam because I disagree with it's central Creed I posted The definition of Feminism In hope that people would understand that the basic creed is not reprehensible . If you want to say some people standing under the broad banner of feminism are hate-filled sexists then yes obviously some are . Dawkins has however made many insensitive inflammatory remarks If you are asking me to pick a side
Dawkins VS Angry Feminazis I don't care It's like the Super bowl or the "world series " in Baseball.... Not important, at all .

The percentage of modern feminists -- particularly leaders and activists - who are among the lunatics is really at issue.

I agree, equal opportunity without regard for sex is laudable. However, that is only the starting point for feminism today. Read any book on the topic. You'll find far more discussion of things quite different from equal opportunity.

And, then there is the intersectionality thing -- look at what the mindset of these freaks leads to: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2 ... matic.html

So, out of all this, are we to take it that you don't think sexism is a real issue, or at least not an important one?

It's never, ever going to be inclusive enough, because they'll just come up with new sub-categories that must be recognized. LBG became LBGT became LBGTQ became LBGTQA became LBGTQAINOXPEMCDW.

To remedy this I propose a completely all-inclusive quote, from myself, of course.

No, I think sexism is a real issue. However, that is an entirely different question from what I was discussing.

That's another thing that happens when people discuss this issue - bring up issues with feminist views, statements, and actions -- and instead of discussing those views, statements and actions, often the reaction is to suggest that one doesn't take sexism seriously. Even worse, often the first reaction is that someone has a problem with women, or doesn't like women.

Sexism is a real issue, and it's real for both men and women. What we do about it is another issue. However, imposing sexist policies and directing more sexism against men in order combat the sexism against women is not the answer.

Make rape on private property legal so women can have ‘learning experiences’

The founder of a website that is popular with so-called Men’s Rights Activists said this week that the “solution” to the problem of rape in the United States was to decriminalize “the violent taking of a woman” on private property.

Anti-feminist blogger Roosh Vörek — who goes by Roosh V — opined in a column on Monday that the entire “rape culture” had been created by rules in current law that say women “could not give full legal consent” if they were drunk.

According to Vörek, laws against rape made “women wholly unconcerned with their own safety and the character of men they developed intimate relationships with.”

“I saw women who voluntarily numbed themselves with alcohol and other drugs in social settings before letting the direction of the night’s wind determine who they would follow into a private room,” he wrote. “I saw women who, once feeling awkward, sad, or guilty for a sexual encounter they didn’t fully remember, call upon an authority figure to resolve the problem by locking up her previous night’s lover in prison or ejecting him from school.”

“By attempting to teach men not to rape, what we have actually done is teach women not to care about being raped, not to protect themselves from easily preventable acts, and not to take responsibility for their actions.”

“I thought about this problem and am sure I have the solution: make rape legal if done on private property,” he continued. “I propose that we make the violent taking of a woman not punishable by law when done off public grounds.”

All-female boxing team threatens to crash Toronto 'pro-rape rally'

Image

Daryrush Valizedeh, a blogger who penned the horrific "legal rape" argument last year, is planning a worldwide gathering Saturday for his pro-rape organization 'Return of the Kings,' in 43 different countries.

Called "Roosh," the pig-faced hell-monster--who said raping women in private should be legalized to give victims a "learning experience--has planned these "covert" meetings, where like-minded individuals (unless you're a woman, gay or trans man) converge in city parks.

The apparent 'code word' to identify one another?

"Do you know where the pet store is?"

Roosh's goal is for the "men" to then head to undisclosed locations and forge 'normal friendships' with each other, beyond the Internet.

Counter-protests, petitions, and outcries from various feminists groups, politicians ( and pretty much anyone who has a conscience) against this loathsome occasion are popping up every hour.

Reacting to this opposition, Roosh took time from sucking his own terrible dick to address his followers with a planned offensive.

"Up to now, the enemy has been able to exert their power by isolating us and attacking with shrieking mobs, but we'll be able to neutralize that tactic by amassing in high numbers come February 6. I will exact furious retribution upon anyone who challenges you in public on that date."

This "retribution" translates to Roosh "taking videos" of the feminists who crash their event, so fellow online goblins can "tear them apart" in the comment section.

One particular all-female boxing club, The Toronto Newsgirls, is taking their own offensive towards Roosh and his boys.

They are warning these rape-enthusiasts that if they show up Saturday, the boxing club will not hesitate in finding out where they're meeting, and literally beating the shit out of them; they're also encouraging women all over the world to follow suit.

A spokeswoman for the team stated:

"Pictures will show up online of women wearing boxing gloves, and blah, blah, blah; the photos of us will show women that being powerful is an option. And I think that's what needs to happen against this douchebag."

YASSSSS, GO THE FUCK OFF!

Hopefully, this message will scare off these subhumans from joining forces, but if it ever did result in a violent clash, I am 100% confident there would be a lot of bloody-nosed men, including Roosh, weeping in fetal positions.

Looks like the feminist harlots and white-guilt manginas got their way again...
'Return of Kings' cancels 'International Meet Up Day' after widespread criticism

A misogynistic group that planned to hold hundreds of rallies around the world, including seven in Texas, announced late Wednesday that it had cancelled the events after international criticism from thousands, including government leaders.

Return of Kings, a group and blog founded by Daryush "Roosh" Valizadeh, who has promoted the legalization of rape in posts online, announced on its website late Wednesday that the "165 meetings in 43 countries" had been cancelled. In Texas, meet ups were planned for San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Houston, El Paso, Denton and Nederland.

The announcement came on the heels of widespread criticism, ranging from threats on social media to public condemnation from government leaders around the world, focusing on the group's attitude toward women.

Return of Kings includes posts titled "8 Things That Make A Girl Stupid And Useless," "Men Benefit From Acting Potentially Violent And Explosive Around Women" and "Germany Proves That 'Rape Culture' Is Merely A Political Weapon Against Western Men."

Valizadeh, a self-proclaimed "pick-up artist," has published blogs calling for the legalization of rape on private property because he believes it would put a stop to rape.
