Good looking (well, at least in his young days) cricketer and absolute batting machine - West Indian Chris Gayle - cracked on to a female journalist in a live interview during a cricket game last week. Big stink, he's been fined and suspended and shamed like a bastard. He notpologied. Anyway, a male sports journalist has written a column in rasta-speak taking the piss out of Gayle to show him what it's like to be treated like a negative stereotype (the female journo is pretty hot, but she's a tomboy and knows her stuff). And now a bunch of people (can't tell what exactly they are, SJW's doesn't really seem to fit, I wouldn't think) are calling the journo a racist in a twitter storm. Fucking bizarre.

What he did was certainly inappropriate in context, and deserving of a fine, but not quite the slavering chauvinist male he has been made out to be in some circles. In a social rather than workplace context, it would have just been one more cheesy come-on line...
