A lot of these videos around. Have you seen the one showing MIT graduates unable to turn on a bulb with a battery and some wire?
I was given a year of free milkshakes once. The year passed and I hadn’t bothered to get even one.

That MIT one is funny. But, that's not really the same thing. I mean, suggesting that we repeal basic individual rights.... that's disconcerting to me, as it may reflect the growing notion that individual rights aren't important.Sean Hayden wrote:A lot of these videos around. “When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

I know.
I thought the point was that they didn't even know what it was they were agreeing to. Do you think they really did?

O they knew exactly what they were doing there is zero doubt about that at all. What makes it unbelievably ironic is
that free speech is supposed to be a basic tenet of the left. But it might have serious consequences given where it is
coming from although it is too early to say at the moment. So give it another twenty years and we will have a better
idea. I disagree in principle with it but I am one hundred per cent in favour of safe spaces too just not universally so

What are safe spaces but areas of social intercourse wherein we restrict freedom of speech? You cannot restrict freedom of expression to particular venues.

This is why I am not in favour of safe spaces being universal because apart from any thing else it would be unworkable on such a scaleSiva wrote:

Unless that is the majority at some point decide that the principle of a safe space is more important than the principle of free speech
And I shall therefore not be the least bit surprised if thought crime in universities and society in general becomes more common place
The students of today will become the leaders of tomorrow and if they take their ideals with them it will mean less freedom for us all

It's entirely predictable given the overwhelming infestation of Marxist faculties nationwide in our colleges and universities, which is a large part of the Marxist/Progressive plan for the ultimate destruction of the United States and its conversion into a Marxist totalitarian tyranny.Forty Two wrote:That MIT one is funny. linkA Public Policy Poll released today asked GOP primary voters, among other things, if they would support bombing Agrabah, the fictional country from the 1993 Disney film Aladdin. Thirty percent said yes while only 13 percent of Republicans oppose bombing a nation that doesn't exist and therefore could not be a threat to anyone in this dimension let alone the United States. To be fair, 19 percent of Democrats said they would favor bombing Agrabah, Buzzfeed reports.
