Ahmed Mohamed: 'Clock boy' seeks $15m from city and school

A boy who was arrested for taking a homemade clock to class is seeking $15m (£10m) from his city and school.
Ahmed Mohamed, 14, was held by police and suspended from his school in Texas because his teacher mistook the clock for a bomb.
His lawyer said in a letter that the incident, which made global headlines, sparked threats against the teenager and left him deeply traumatised.
Ahmed and his family have since moved to Qatar to complete his education.

$15 million? So he wants to wreck the City and School finances for the foreseeable future, with who knows what negative consequences? No. Whatever wrong he's suffered isn't worth anywhere near that money. He may be leaving the US behind, but not the culture of questionable lawsuits.

No it wasn't, it was perfectly lawful because what he brought to school was a simulated explosive device and everybody knows it, and it might well have been a test-run to see how good the school's security is with the intent of having him show up with an actual suicide bomb in the future.

The administration and the police did exactly the right thing.
