No woman 'totally straight', study says

Gay women tend to be exclusively sexually attracted to women, while straight women are more likely to be aroused by both sexes, a study says.
Researchers asked 345 women about their sexual preferences and compared these with their arousal levels when shown videos of attractive men and women.
They found 28% of straight women were mostly aroused by their preferred sex, compared with 68% of gay women.
The University of Essex study concluded that no woman is "totally straight".

It's my pet theory that human beings are bisexual. I suspect it's the machismo on the part of men, largely, that stops us from admitting that we are attracted to other men as well.

I'm not even slightly bisexual. I have not even the slightest physical attraction for women. Beautiful women are aesthetically pleasing to me, but not in any other way.

I would be foolish to think that the inverse would not be true for at least some straight men.

I had a couple of gay experiences in the mid 70s when everybody was having sex with everybody else. I guess I would not have if I wasn't 'slightly' bi-sexual, but I did discover that it really didn't work for me - even remotely. I haven't been remotely temped again to this day and certainly looking at guys - even apparently attractive ones does nothing for me.

Of course I could have just been defeated by social norms..though I do think most men are clods..

Interesting. From early teenagehood I have fantasised about other women, but not all women, in the same way as I am not attracted to or fantasise about all men. However, I do not know, if presented with the opportunity to have sex with a woman I found attractive, whether I would actually go through with it. I did kiss my best friend passionately when we were very very drunk at 17 (she thought I was her boyfriend). It was one of the loveliest kisses I've ever had!

The best way to look at this issue is to realise that there is a continuum which ranges from totally straight to totally gay, with everything in between. I know that I am totally straight, and have no physical interest whatever in other men. The closest I can get is to agree that a handsome man is handsome, but my feelings towards that handsome guy tends to be envy that he can get the girls I can't.

So, what they are saying is that some women are homosexual, some women are bisexual, and (I note as a fact) some women are asexual.

As an aside I picked up a party of lesbians last night and one of the girls was a real knockout. A Brit who was the clone of a young Keira Knightly with a brilliant smile and a winning character. I kinda hoped she was bi and liked old guys, but no joy.
