'Cannabis forest' discovered in London

Scores of cannabis plants have been discovered growing in a remote area of disused land in south-west London.

Police found the cannabis patch, covering an area the size of a football pitch, after a call from a member of the public in Kingston.
They found more than 150 plants, some more than 5ft (1.5m) tall. The plants are to be destroyed.

PC Sarah Henderson said it looked like "a small forest of Christmas trees and was complete with a gazebo".
The plants were found near Lower Marsh Lane.

"Whoever set this up used a really remote spot - the only way to get there was a 20-minute walk through wasteland.

"But all their time, trouble and gardening skills will go unrewarded, as the whole lot will now be destroyed by police," she said.

:hehe:

Why is it legal to sell cannabis seeds in the UK but illegal to germinate them?

They are sold as birdseed and fishing bait. You can also eat them and they are a good source of protein - similar to linseed or soya. They contain virtually zero THC - even the seeds of high-yield skunk - so are not considered psychoactive and hence are not illegal.

That makes sense. But, these guys don't seem to be marketing to that crowd. :dunno:

Course they aren't. But it's legal, so...

I understand they include a disclaimer about the illegality of growing the shit - so nobody would, would they? :tea:

You can also buy magic mushroom spore prints - strictly for biological research purposes. :eddy:

I've often thought that if I was the boss of the police, I would open a seed website just like the one linked.
After all, people will get their seed somewhere. And what a good way of getting the names and addresses of people who are likely to grow the stuff.

If I've thought of it, they probably have. If I was buying some seed, I'd find a way to get it sent to an anonymous collection address.

There used to be cannabis seed in mixed canary feed. I know some people who grew it from that.
It wasn't particularly potent, but it certainly was proper cannabis.

The stuff they grow these days is many times stronger than that wild stuff though.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

I imagine there's some specialist technique for sorting the wheat from the chaff with Trill? :tea:

Trill was a waste of time. But the mixed canary seed that you could buy in markets had plenty of cannabis seed.
And cannabis seed, being more round than the usual grass seed etc, was easy to pick out.
You put it on a tray, and shook it around, and the big round seeds would roll towards the edge.

But there wouldn't be any point in doing it now. The modern skunk varieties are so much stronger, you would be wasting your time growing canary seed varieties. If you're going to gamble on growing it, you would want the strongest stuff you could get. The penalties are the same for strong stuff, as for useless stuff.
