A teenage student in Birmingham has just been given a life sentence for plotting to kill his fellow students with pipe bombs.

He was told he must spend at least 8 years in prison.

When you constantly hear shit like this, eventually you accept it, as if it's not crazy.
Nothing's changed. It's just as mad as the first time you heard it. They've just blunted your brain with repetition.

Yeh, but the point is that they call it a LIFE sentence.

A teenager probably has sixty plus years to live. He's got 8 years. And they call it life.
When you hear it over and over again, your brain goes dull and you don't notice.

I've had people get angry with me, because I don't accept the manmade global warming bollocks, even though they have absolutely no idea of the evidence for and against.

They've become convinced, purely by constant repetition of the message.

Repeat it often enough, and you can convince the public of any old bollocks.
Like how wonderful the royal family are.

Law, ideal ground for pen pushers and 'the not great thinkers' to make a career in gobbledygook. A piece of ol' rope and natural justice would do the trick 95% of the time. In times of austerity the lawyering trade gotta be cut a bit too...and a meal given a 'murderer' in prison is one less for a 'Syrian refugee' so choices must be made....only so much food in the world.

All very well. But it's not life imprisonment, is it? It's the title that's the biggest joke. The clear false impression that the public are fed.

What's next? What's the minimum? Will people getting "life" be out after five years?
We're not far off. Or maybe it's already happening. This is just a random example.

In another case, Kenny Noye, one of the top ten most notorious criminals in Britain's prison system, has just been recommended for transfer to an "open" prison. After doing only about fifteen years for a particularly savage murder. A detective constable was sentenced to 11 years, for passing him information on the police operation against him. He got a £1,000 bribe.

So taking a life isn't much different from taking a thousand pound bribe, to our justice system.
People like Noye should be getting life. Real life. Not pretend life.
