That works a treat in Australia. Actually, we do even better than that. Any asylum seekers that slip through the net cast by our navy get placed in outsourced offshore concentration camps "until further notice". Result? Zero asylum seekers on Australian soil. Both, the currently governing coalition party and the Labor party pursue the same policy. The White Australia Policy rules again, this time with a vengeance and as ever, without a trace of compassion.

Good point. We ought to abolish our Surf Life Savers organisation for that very reason. If people get used to the fact that they won't get rescued when they are in danger of drowning, they will not attempt to swim in the ocean in the first place.

Those countries provide the space. But the MONEY to support them is coming from the US and the UK in the biggest amounts.
And of course, Turkish Kurds have a lot in common with Iraqi Kurds and Syrian Kurds.
It's perfectly suitable that people remain close to their homes.

Unless they want to move to richer countries of course. That's what the map is about. The motivation of people trying to get to Germany etc.
