It would appear, once more, that the Scandinavians have got it right with their version of socialism, and the Americans are not doing so well, in spite of their protestations of liberty.

Of course, there are roughly 179 nations that did worse than the USA, but we are the developed world.

Australia doing worse than NZ is understandable bearing in mind who they have for a Prime Minister.

Sweden has zilch for oil reserves.

But population may indeed be a factor. Norway, Sweden, Iceland, New Zealand, Switzerland... they all have populations about the size of the metro Miami area, tops. The US is over 320 million now - and growing faster than most other developed countries.

Maybe break it down by states? Iceland has less than half a million people... so what? Let's see Alabama put next to Connecticut and see how comparable they are.

Cart before horse, that. We have the mad monk as our Prime Minister because the majority of us voted for the cunt. The real reason we are trailing New Zealand goes further back in time. While the Maoris beat the Kiwis into shape, our own natives just let the Rum Corps run amok. This left the authoritarian pricks to concentrate on keeping the convicts submissive. Had there been even just one significant battle between the invaders and the natives, the guards would have been forced to make concessions to the teaspoon and breadloaf thieves, which would have changed the social fibre of Australian society from the word go, a change that would have resonated to this day.

Of course, this all assumes (fallaciously) that the metrics used for rating the various nations are valid, which they aren't. They are clearly biased in favor of particular kinds of socialist systems and against anything that's not socialist.

Same old story as with the health care ratings, a complete socialist fraud.
