Second reference : Skeptic (the American magazine) Vol. 20, number 2, 2015, page 21
Aleksandr Dugin is seen as the man behind Vlad Putin. The Skeptic article describes him as the equivalent of Rasputin influencing Czar Nicholas.
Dugin, and now Putin espouse a philosophy called Eurasianism. The core belief is that 'liberalism', the western approach to politics, is an assault against the traditional way in Russia. Dugin wants to create a grand coalition of powers to counter the threat of liberalism.
Dugin appears to have adopted a lot of the policies of neo-Nazis. Some from communism. Some fascist. Dugin believes that the "American Empire" must be destroyed.
The writer of the Skeptic article believes that Putin, through Dugin's influence, wants to build support via many fringe political parties, in the west as well as elsewhere, as well as direct action, such as we see in the Ukraine.
I do not know how true all this is. Is Dugin the dark force behind Putin? Is he the modern Rasputin? Or is this just a kind of paranoia? The evidence suggests he is a total asshole, and that he has nefarious influence in Russia.

Re: Aleksandr Dugin
At 53 the best is already over for this later day Rasputin. Many works dilute the message. Should have kept to one important book in the politics trade.

What will the world be like after its ruler is removed?
