Then I recommend you go jogging across intersections without looking then.
I really do. Your vast intelligence will protect you. :funny:

I'm sure you feel like you're making a point here but you really aren't. Nobody denies that it's a good idea to look before you cross a street. The debate is over whether that mistake makes his morally or legally responsible for the fact that someone breaking a law designed to keep people like him safe killed him.

I'm beginning to think you're being deliberately stupid.

The title of this thread is ''harsh or what''. And I've already posted that I would apportion 10% of the blame to the driver, if she did go through the light on red, which is questionable.

I see people go through lights, just after they've gone to red, all the fucking time.
I've never seen an accident, ever. I would try to avoid doing it myself, but I regularly go through on amber. If somebody walks out in front of me, without looking, I would feel no guilt at all.
What they are doing is akin to russian roulette.

As far as the thread question goes, I just watched one of the police interceptor programs, and a loony driver went on a forty minute run from the police, ramming more than ten cars, deliberately bashing them out of his way, including police cars. He was going over 160mph at one point, and then when he was finally caught, he fought the police and had to be tasered.

He got sixteen months. What he did was in a different class altogether from what this woman did, but she got thirty months.

In her case, what she did wouldn't normally even warrant a charge, just a warning.
It was turned into a tragedy by the pedestrian, who jogged into the road without looking.
