Last I heard they had someone who was HIV+ saying it was discrimination for them to have to tell their future partners. There was even a cannibal on there, so they have been eaten, have HIV or both. I would have recommended it to Rainbow but I don't think he likes eating food seasoned with HIV, fussy eater that lad.

UCL released a statement on 15 June describing Sir Tim's resignation as a "personal decision" and "a sad and unfortunate outcome of the comments he made in a speech last week".

"Media and online commentary played no part in UCL's decision to accept his resignation."

A spokesperson for UCL declined to comment any further when contacted by The Independent. The Royal Society said it would not be commenting further on the matter at this stage.

And now apparently the Daily Mail has found out that he doesn't really believe those things and said something different?

That's some amazing skeptic work there Dave, and entirely convenient that it happens to confirm your prior beliefs when we ignore all other evidence to the contrary.

Probably not, they just banned everyone else. So a forum that used to have over 2,000 members now has about 5 mods talking to each other. They might as well just talk to each other using skype.

The journalist in question is Deborah Blum.

They also noted that although Hunt belatedly called his remarks an attempt at humor, he had earlier defended them as “trying to be honest.” (That was certainly what he said to me among others.)

My position has been the same from the start of this thread, I don't care if he meant it or not. He has done more for science and more for women in science than all the outrage brigade have or will ever do. The latest information if true will just show the mendacity of his opponents, that's all.
