I can't believe this verdict, let alone the sentence.
This woman hit a jogger at some traffic lights. She hit him in the road, not on the pavement.
She made the mistake of telling the police that the traffic lights were on orange.
That was her crime, apparently. You can only go through on amber if it's unsafe to stop.
But the jogger wasn't blind, he got hit by a car in the road. Surely it's HIS responsibility to cross safely and avoid getting hit? They seem to have put all the blame on the driver.
I would be straight in with an appeal, if it was me. And I would be asking my defence how come they could lose that case.
She also got a four year ban. I would have been outraged to even get that.
A woman has been jailed for two and a half years for causing the death of a jogger when he was hit by her car in Kent.
Paul Stinton, 45, from Ashford, died from his injuries three weeks after being knocked down in Simone Weil Avenue in Ashford on 4 January 2014.
Linda Ann Jenns, 49, from Richborough Way, Kingsnorth, had denied the charge at Canterbury Crown Court.
She was also disqualified from driving for four years.
Paul Stinton died in hospital nearly three weeks after the crash
Mr Stinton was hit by a Ford Kuga driven by Jenns as tried to cross the road.
When interviewed by Kent Police, Jenns said that she had driven through the traffic lights as they were amber.
Investigating officer PC David Jeeves said: "This tragic collision happened at a busy set of traffic lights.
"The Highway Code states that even amber lights should be stopped at unless you have crossed the stop line or to stop would cause an accident."

If that was the basis of her conviction, I can't see what all that bollocks about amber was for.
It's still your job to make sure you don't get hit, whatever colour the lights are.
