I prefer to read about the exact same topic in one thread rather than two or more. The sooner this one gets merged the less likely it is that the result will unduly challenge your mental powers.

Look at the bright side, FF. We still have the RCC in general and father Ted in particular disapproving with all their remaining might.

On the radio, they said that the no campaign had conceded but were warning of dire consequences, especially in the upbringing of children. :kids:

So far, only one constituency has voted No, and that was narrowly:

So the place the Irish themselves tell jokes about, County Kerry, voted "yes". Seems like the Kerrymen are a bit more savvy than they're made out to be. In future it looks like Roscommon-South Leitrim will be the butt of all the jokes instead of Kerry. :)

By the way, what do the three grey bits for parts of Cork mean? Vote not yet declared?

Yes, for some reason they were slow counting, something the overall returning officer alluded to in her speech. :hehe:

The final yes vote was 62.1% ... good enough for me. :smoke:

My only concern is that they didn't ban arranged marriages on the same day. I can see how that could get ugly for some... :?

But congratulations to Ireland for being the first country to do this via popular vote. It's a huge leap forward.

Well brace yourself for earthquakes, Ireland. And don't complain when they come because you've done it to yourself :nono:
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.
