So the place the Irish themselves tell jokes about, County Kerry, voted "yes". Seems like the Kerrymen are a bit more savvy than they're made out to be. In future it looks like Roscommon-South Leitrim will be the butt of all the jokes instead of Kerry.

By the way, what do the three grey bits for parts of Cork mean? Vote not yet declared?

Yes, for some reason they were slow counting, something the overall returning officer alluded to in her speech.

The final yes vote was 62.1% ... good enough for me.

My only concern is that they didn't ban arranged marriages on the same day. I can see how that could get ugly for some...

But congratulations to Ireland for being the first country to do this via popular vote. It's a huge leap forward.
