If there weren't sexists in the world and constant sexual advertising for everything else, it would be fine, but there are so it's not.

Well, I doubt young kids would even understand the joke. But even if they did, then humor wins.
For the ones who understand it, it just reinforces the idea that it's ok to sexualise everything. And for young kids that's not really a good message to be sending. As Hermit said, sexualising a bus ride is just plain stupid.
I'm much more worried that we're teaching kids not to laugh, and that every joke is offensive to someone and therefore best not told.
Also, of course there's nothing sexy about riding the bus. And that's why the ad is silly and funny.
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Goodpoint. And how many Hollywood movies are advertised on the sides of buses with guns and implied violence...? :read:

Yeah, but kids don't get that. They see the ad and think that it's perfectly normal to talk about riding the bus in sexual terms. There's plenty of laughter in the world without publicly sexualising kids any further. Consider it's me who's saying this. I have no problem with absolutely gutter humour.

Fair dinkum, Tatt. Are you really suggesting that we are going to run out of laughter without lame, sexist gutter humour?

It's not a very funny joke, really, is it? However, it does get noticed - which is the purpose of advertising. And, since there are versions with both male and female models holding the sign, it can't really be claimed that it objectifies women either. Older children will get the joke. Younger ones won't. That is how it is with any sexual reference in day-to-day life.

So I see nothing wrong with it. :dunno:

False analogy. Sleeping under bridges is something only done out of necessity and, perforce, by the poor. Using sexually attractive models and innuendo to sell merchandise is very much unisex.
