Just saw "Age of Adaline," which I quite enjoyed. It's a subtle and moving think-piece about the consequences of immortality that doesn't involve a single gunshot or explosion.

I was, but nobody filmed my presence. My boss had a contract to supply marquees and other stuff for the production part that took place in Cronulla's sand dunes. They were meant to keep the weird and wonderful vehicles they used under cover. Temporary garages. I delivered them, helped set them up and got a good close up look at the little monstrosities. They turned out to be more show than go. Visuals were everything, so turbochargers and whatnot were purely non-functional mockups.

Just got back from Mad Max: Furious Road. It's a great fun movie. Incredible action. But it's not a Mad Max movie. No humour, Tom Hardy's Max was ridiculous, and Max wasn't even the main character. It should have just been another post apocalyptic movie. Only the cars and scenery were reminiscent of Mad Max. Dunno what possessed them to cast Tom Hardy and then have him act that way.
