A new international survey lists nations by happiness index. Switzerland comes in at the happiest nation on the planet.
It is interesting to see that happiness, at the national level, definitely correlates with wealth. All of the most happy nations are among the wealthiest.

I also note that the only 'minor' nation in the top 17 is Costa Rica, which is also the only nation on Earth with a clause in its constitution forbidding armed forces. Clearly, having soldiers must make people unhappy.
