Nasty storms here the last 24 hours, now subsiding. Here's a stream in the Lake District not far from here that flowed up hill because of the wind!! (from: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... power.html)

The "orange" warning would piss a lot of people off, one would think...klr wrote:We seem to have adopted the same system in Ireland. Of course nobody actually knows what these mean except the weather people themselves so every time one of these pops up they have to explain the whole system over again which kind of defeats the objective I would have thought.
Anyway overnight we have an 'amber alert' in place. More heavy rain and storm force winds on top of recently flooded land and disruption.
Looks like a breezy wet couple of days!
I think red means "hide under the bed", and orange means "keep a torch handy, and don't drive".

Nurse, where the fuck's my cardigan?
And my gin!

A lot of rain came down here last night. Heading up to the rest of the country today I believe. Get your flood hats on!

It was a bit wild on the local promenade yesterday afternoon.
There's an upside to staying indoors where it's warm and dry.

Millions of idiots went around driving cars in Georgia today, instead of calling in sick. Are they dumb or what? They are not going tolose the jobs as there is nobody else to do them. They deported all the illegals.

Windy here today. Tried to hang some laundry out, but even with the mainsheet slack and the sail reefed I was worried the mast might rip right off the deck.

We've got wind. Been howling a gale all night. With occasional horizontal showers. Nice day to be indoors.

Have you tried wanking?

The effects of wanking on reducing wind velocity are unknown. I think an experiment may be in order...rEvolutionist wrote:Have you tried wanking?

I wish we had some dramatic weather here today. Instead, it's clear and mild

People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.
