If I was depressed to that point then part of it would be taking a whole lot of people with me to the other side. It is not magic. I'm a nihilist. Why should I care in that situation? Most depressives are potential murderers only requiring admittance to the flight-deck of a Airbus to focus their rage into mass murdering. I say we round them all up, and maybe do the other thing? At the very least the gross domestic happiness index should improve?

I took the trouble to do some googling and heaven forfend - read a few articles. Doesn't exactly make me an expert but at least I'm not just ranting here.

It seems that many murder-suicides are committed by people suffering from depression, but the majority of those involve family victims or small numbers. A significant number of murders are followed by suicides I was interested to read. So there appears to be a correlation, however being depressed does not make you dangerous to the point of committing murder in any obvious cause and effect manner. Depression is a good indicator of self harm of course and you are far more likely to hurt or kill yourself rather than other people if you suffer from it.

There are quite a few articles out there trying to make sense of 'mass murder' and its correlation, if any to depression. There are also a few wondering about depression and people who become psychopathic as a result.

There aren't any pat black and white answers it seems. However carry on slinging insults if you wish folks - it is vaguely entertaining.

Well the head of the psychiatric association in the UK was pretty clear on this.

A lot of people have depression, so it's not surprising that some murderers would have depression as well. That doesn't mean they murdered people because they had depression. They probably either have further psychosis problems, or they are just evil cunts.

THAT is the point I have been arguing against the whole time, and it's the point that the health profession has been arguing against as well. It only takes one case to produce a general rule when the case produces mass casualties. All you bleeding-heart liberals who believe the depressive stood next you is safely thinking merely self-harming thoughts are mistaken. The risk is you will put such people in charge of life threatening machinery. Would you give a drunk such credence? a pure bred psychotic? obviously not, since you realize and are honest about the outlier risks and consequences. With this PC culture today where anything in the protective eye of the 'nanny state liberal goons' is out of bounds for legitimate criticism how long before another mass killing?
