Don't all males have a strong and repressed tendency towards violence whether they are zombie fan's or not.

Just how popular are films featuring zombies anyway? To gauge that, quantifiable evidence should be tendered, such as box office revenue, DVD/BluRay sales and so on, and how those figures compare to those of non-z films.

For the record: I watched a zombie themed film once, and found it boring. That was a bit over 40 years ago.

BG can be critical of those who enjoy seeing zombies being killed, (or killing them in games) without being guilty of saying they have committed thought crimes, as long as he does not want to censor such activities. I am highly critical of liberal voters, but I do not advocate that voting for Tony Abbott should incur a public flogging...

In other words could you identify wannabe violent criminals who aren't also zombie movie fans? However, as long as they keep it bottled up, and do not translate that love of violence into action, that is OK.

But you agreed with Jonno that all males are repressing violent tendencies. So how are zombie film buffs any different to you? Neither of you put your thoughts into action, so they don't deserve any more disgust than you do.

Perhaps the point is that they simply make it somewhat easier to enjoy slaughter, rather than it being a black or white proposition. I'm inclined to agree with BG that something like this exists, but I do not draw any lessons in morality from it. Hominids have always liked slaughtering other hominids, but, unless they are psychopaths, the pleasure is mixed with guilty disgust...
