The suggestion you must die to save someone else is kinda ridiculous. Much more to the point is to live our life in such a way as to help or save others.

I would be unlikely to let myself die to save others, but I know because I have done it, that I am willing to risk my life to save others. Quite a different thing.

My philosophy is that there is no heaven/hell/afterlife. We each have one life. Value it.

Depends. The kids sure, Mrs. Lak maybe, depends on how nice she's been to me recently. Anybody else, fuck it, sucks to be them.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Um, my philosophy is not to die for my country, it's to make the other guy die for his.

I would sacrifice anyone with the exception of my cats and possibly my wife to stay alive.

Not a very complete philosophy, but if it's enough for you, who am I to pick nits? :dunno:

It's only the salient part of my overall philosophy.

About $900k, according to various term and whole life insurance policies.

I'm sure I can find a few toddlers or babies to sacrifice somewhere. No firearms required

Yah. That sounds about right for a useless parasite. The good news is that others won't put up with that sort of behavior and will simply off you with whatever comes to hand, like a rock or a stick. No firearms required.

I don't know about the first question, but I would never ever put an animal above myself or another human. I don't care if the choice was between saving a trailer full of 500 (or part thereof) of the last species of something on the planet or pulling the human from the cab before the truck topples off the cliff. I will always pick the human.

With the caveat that there may be some humans I know who are exceptions or that I might have a little sad if an unknown human I've saved turns out to be a piece of shit.

It's not often that people get enough time to think, when that kind of dilemma crops up.

Given enough time to chew it over, I might sacrifice my life for one or more of my family. But given split seconds, I would probably look after number one.

As far as dogs go, I would happily let the fucking lot die, rather than risk stubbing my toe.

But if it was an amur leopard, I might save it in preference to a few dozen complete strangers. Or even a few hundred.
After all, there are just a few hundred amur leopards left. There are about seven billion humans.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
