Two more patients being tested for Ebola at UK hospitals

A patient, believed to have recently returned from Ebola-affected Africa, was admitted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Treliske, neat Truro, last night and was placed in isolation in the Wheal Prosper ward.

A health worker was also being tested for the killer virus at an Abdereen hospital today, after the first confirmed case north of the border was confirmed yesterday.

A statement from Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust (RCHT) said: "A patient has been admitted to Royal Cornwall Hospital and is currently undergoing a series of tests - one of which is for Ebola.

"We do not expect the results to be known for at least 24 hours and in the meantime the patient is being looked after in isolation, following nationally agreed guidelines and protocols to protect the health of our staff and other patients.

"Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust has been following national guidance around Ebola and made plans in line with advice from Public Health England and NHS England."

A Scottish NHS worker, Pauline Cafferkey, 39, who was yesterday diagnosed with Ebola after returning to Glasgow from working in Sierra Leone and was this morning moved to a London hospital.

It is believed the second Scottish patient, a woman who is currently being tested for the virus, had been staying at a youth hostel in the Highlands and was being transferred to the Royal Infirmary in Aberdeen today.

A statement from NHS Grampian said: "The patient with possible Ebola infection is expected to arrive in the infection unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary later this evening.

"The patient, a female adult, is low risk but became unwell following her return from a country with an Ebola outbreak within the last 21 days."

NHS Grampian said the patient had not had any contact in the UK with the confirmed case in Glasgow.

On the fourth day of Christmas, Scump's true love brought to him:-

4 Ebola patients
3 bird flu cases
2 deadly earthquakes
And a plane falling into the sea.

I've had the smuggled for a week now. Should I be worried?

Actually do feel a bit groggy at the moment. Going to the supermarket later to stock up on New Year plonk, like everyone else. Place will be packed with a future looking so ominous. :drunk:
