Could James Bond be black?

It's not important. I don't think the guy is racist. He just has a fixed idea of the character being of a certain identity, which is white.
Which is true. But you can change it to a black character. It's no more important than a black Barbie.
Unless you are a sad individual who thinks that it IS important.

James Bond books and films are for children. When I was a kid, I could read it and watch it.

Idris Elba is far from rough. Even as Stringer Bell he was as smooth as could be. He's incredibly hot, and oozes charisma, and he comes across as someone with brains and street smarts in many of his roles (when he's not playing a god) so I can just easily see him sliding into the part.

I agree with everything you just said. He definitely has presence and charisma. He comes across as someone strong in both body and mind. Very charming. Very confident. Not someone you'd want to mess with at all. Definitely would be a great Bond. I still like my idea of Rowan Atkinson better, though.

Also, Fassbender is German, raised in Ireland. Elba is from London. They both do accents well, but saying Fassbender has the accent makes no sense...

Ah, I didn't realise that. Well he can do the British accent well. I've got nothing against Elba, he's a good actor. But he's not what I would consider James Bond material. But I didn't think Daniel Craig was either. So it shows how much I know..
