A 3 hour, 30 track concert, with 3 more bonus tracks on the DVD.
Admittedly, the last few years of touring (and old age) are taking their toll on Leonard. Some of the performances are not as polished as on the last two live albums/DVDs (Live in London, Songs from the Road). But there are still plenty of highlights. Essential for all Cohenistas.
Drop the Christmas present hints now.
God has no place within these walls, just like facts have no place within organized religion. - Superintendent Chalmers
It's not up to us to choose which laws we want to obey. If it were, I'd kill everyone who looked at me cock-eyed! - Rex Banner
The Bluebird of Happiness long absent from his life, Ned is visited by the Chicken of Depression. - Gary Larson
Clever marketing, really, given the number of angst-ridden and depressed middle class teenagers with plenty of pocket money.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould
About me: I have prehensile eyebrows. I speak 9 languages fluently, one of which other people can also speak. When backed into a corner, I fit perfectly - having a right-angled arse.

I never got that. Len always cheers me up.
A book is a version of the world. If you do not like it, ignore it; or offer your own version in return. Salman Rushdie You talk to God, you're religious. God talks to you, you're psychotic. Yabut you're speshal. Millions of teenagers would have loved Cohen's dirges to death if only their courage was stronger than their misery. Songs like Please Don't Pass Me By, Tonight Will Be Fine, Seems So Long Ago, Nancy, Dress Rehearsal Rag, One of Us Cannot Be Wrong and Stories of the Street are aimed squarely at the wallets of the self pitying youngsters.

I can't hear lyrics like Cohen's and fail to be lifted by their sheer beauty - whatever the subject matter of the song. I've got a couple of his poetry books kicking around too.

All of those are at least 40 years old. Get with the times, man.
These days, Cohen on stage actually has a very dry, almost apologetic sense of humour when he talks to the crowd. No razor-blade moments, I can assure you. There also appear to be relatively few youngsters at his gigs. Most of the people who grew up listening to him are still fans, but the self-pitying yoof of today seem to have little time for him.

Leonard Cohen live seems a contradiction in terms.
Pretentious lyrics, dreary voice. Why do I like it? Fuck knows. But I always did. He's definitely got something.
The songs go round and round in my head.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
