A long time ago I used to hold the position that the aesthetics of nature was inherently a good thing for humans, whether an individual accepted that or not. It was essentially a faith position. I used to sometimes say that nature/the environment was my religion. I used to really enjoy nature back then. These days, as a nihilist somewhat, I'm a bit "meh" about nature. I'm no longer happy like I was in nature. I'm wondering if I should return to religion. Cold hard rationalism just makes all of us miserable twats. And don't try and tell me you're not miserable in some way. I know you are..

Miserable -me, no way. I just don't like happy, it gets way too much exposure. Happy, happy, happy. Are you happy? What makes you happy? Are you doing what's going to lead to your happiness? Do you make others happy? Are you doing everything you can to be happy now and forever? How much should you care about the happiness of others? Everything's essentially about making ourselves happy. It's true, happiness is what we all want. You just haven't looked closely enough at your motives, really you're seeking happiness. Have you found happiness?

Isn't happiness, or at least 'satisfaction', a biological imperative? One can't help but want it unless one is mentally disturbed. Something which, by the way, most of us miserable twats are...
