Libertarian bloggers, ebola and black death

Post by Tero » Sat Oct 11, 2014 12:45 pm

Gubment is evil, science is run by gubment. Ever since black death. Buy more guns! :lou:
An Ebola pandemic will create a “distrust in government” pandemic. It did during the Black Death of 1348-50. The public lost confidence in its rulers, both civil and ecclesiastical. Historians date the birth of the Renaissance with the decade of the 1350’s. The medieval social order never recovered.

Sure for them. But they have to keep a public discussion going to get sympathy and support. Thus, guns. Even though viruses are very small to shoot.

Even rat shot is to big to take them out. Personal tactical nukes are the only way to go.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

The way that fuckwit Obama is "handling" the Ebola crisis makes disillusionment with the system a perfectly rational emotion.

Guns! Send troops to Ebola and shoot every person with fever. Flame throwers for on the spot cremation.

George Bush would have invaded Ebola by now.

It's only boots on the ground that can stop it.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

I told you. Stand still order worldwide at the first sign that the virus had escaped the hot zone until local outbreaks are identified and quarantined. Absolute travel ban from the hot zone. Military quarantine by NATO of the affected areas with deadly force authorized. Medical and humanitarian support paid for by all nations delivered by trained personnel using military aircraft and assets. All hot zone personnel to be quarantined for 40 days after leaving the hot zone. Double or triple layer quarantine defense around affected areas.

In other words, no fucking about. This is the real deal, it's not a joke and it's not something to be made light of.

So let's be rational. How many troops do you recon it will take to stand an armed Ubuntu logo 24/7 within sight of each other around the nation of Liberia until this thing dies back? How many fugitives/refugees/bioterrorists/or whatever you plan to call them do you estimate will have to be schwacked before the rest of them get the message that they're locked in and have to ride it out on their own? How many planes is it gonna take to feed the soldiers, much less the civilians of the country or subcontinent they're surrounding? How much concertina and mines is that gonna take? How do you pull something like this off without the entire population of the affected region catching wind of the plan and fleeing in a bomburst diaspora distribution pattern to spread the disease over the planet in about an afternoon? ... Act like someone will charge you money for answering these and many other questions incorrectly, because they will. :prof:

However many it takes. There are seven billion people in the world, I'm sure enough of them could be mobilized and armed adequately to secure Liberia's borders.

How many fugitives/refugees/bioterrorists/or whatever you plan to call them do you estimate will have to be schwacked before the rest of them get the message that they're locked in and have to ride it out on their own?
However many try to escape and spread the disease.

However many it takes. The armies of the world have lots and lots of planes.
How much concertina and mines is that gonna take?
However much it takes.
How do you pull something like this off without the entire population of the affected region catching wind of the plan and fleeing in a bomburst diaspora distribution pattern to spread the disease over the planet in about an afternoon? ... Um, they are ALREADY doing so, and therein lies the problem. While it may not be possible to prevent every infected person from escaping there's no reason that we should make it EASY for them to do so by continuing to serve their nations with public transportation. Embargo kept the Cubans on Cuba for a good long time. It's not impossible. It's not easy, and it's not inexpensive, but the alternatives are beyond horrific, or do you still fail to understand that?

What do YOU think should be done to put out this conflagration that threatens the very existence of civilization and mankind?

Sit on your ass and pontificate at others on a computer?

Really?
