Mentioning HIV made me have a look at how it's going. Remember the panic when it first came out? The ''Don't die of ignorance'' campaign. It's amazing what a few drugs have done to the public concern over it. You hardly hear a mention of it now. ( even though it's now pretty rampant ).
Here are a few facts about HIV.
Wikipedia wrote:
As of 2009, it is estimated that there are 33.3 million people worldwide infected with HIV.[4]
Doesn't that tell you all you need to know? Nobody has bothered to update that wiki statistic in the last five years. It's probably more like 60 million now, but I suspect an awful lot more.

According to the figures on that page, HIV in the US is at 0.6% in adults.
Or 1,148,200 people. That's the official 2011 estimate.
But I found this article on a study done on LA women. It's not about HIV, it's about how douching and lubricants can cause bacterial infections. But what was REALLY interesting, was that
out of this random sample of LA women, 25% were HIV positive.
I find that stunning. They hardly think it's worth a mention.

So if you think modern practices in countries like the USA will protect us all from Ebola, you should think again.
