There appears to be an incredible over-confidence in the west, that ebola won't be a problem in developed countries.
I'm not sure that it's justified.
While it's true that it's hard getting a safety message across in Africa, it's also a fact that in countries like the US, people move about far more readily, and a highly infectious virus could be in every corner of the country in lightning-quick time.

The health authorities in the states have already shown that they are incapable of giving the problem the attention it deserves, because they allowed the virus to enter, when it could easily have been prevented by a travel ban.

If they couldn't control it's spread from Africa, they have no chance of preventing it from hopping from Arkansas to Alaska, or Boston to Birmingham.

When it started out, it was tempting to think that somehow, the differences between African culture and western culture would make it easier for us to prevent the spread.
Now I'm not so sure.
If doctors and nurses are catching it, people who know how to avoid infection, then that doesn't bode well for the western culture making much difference. The early message was that it wasn't that easy to catch from a stranger. But it seems to be doing rather well at disproving that.

Maybe the US will be lucky, and no new cases will arise. I hope that they don't, because it could get nasty.
